It is a short distance from where I live to this valley in the forests. The landscape is protected from exploiting, and even if there are old traces after activities, it appears quite pristine. Fallen trees are not something one sees in cultivated forests, here they are the landscape's signature. There's a creek flowing throught the valley, and after rain it flows over the uneven landscape and makes spectacular scenes. During the different seasons the landscape changes characters. A variation of broadleaf trees and vegetation at the ground change coulours at variable pace, and the landscape changes its face from day to day. |

autumn wetness
|
The landscape is heavy after hours with rain the creek is big the ground is wet. colours deeper. The forest is darker, nature more quiet. |

Moody weather reveals other parts of the landscape
|
Rain and fog calm the landscape, the mountain's face changes expression. protect the body, open mind enriches the walk. |
Regn og tåke roar lendet, fjellets andlet endrar lynde. vernar kroppen, fritt sinn gjer ferda rik. |

Weather in the mountains
|
Weather is real outdoors in the mountains. It surrounds us totally and comes close. And we are close to it.
|

River through a valley in Jotunheimen mountain area
|
the ice melts in the summer, flows as a blue river and make swings down the landscapes which grow greener. |
Photograps shot from the mountain Knutshø in Jotunheimen this week.
The river starts with the glacier Leirungsbreen and flows into the lake Øvre Leirungen - which in turn flows into the lake Gjende.
Minerals from the glacier give the water a turquoise colour.

Expired analogue film
I found some really old, expired film and Loaded my Hasselblad.
I then went out to some well-known sites in my nearby forests and shot a couple rolls.

The developed result was very difficult to scan and post process, but one of the shots from the Fujicolor PRO-film turned out quite well.

Flowing water
|
Each spring echoes the last ice age's end, when ice and water gushed out and broke way for rivers and waterfalls. |

Mountains let night be night
In the mountains the night can be night. Black as nothing, or twinkling with stars - and an ever changing moon. In the summer: never dark, but glowing in the north. | I fjellet får natta vere natt. |

Oslo's nearby forests
| The old parts of the forests east in Oslo - called Østmarka, have something of the pristine and original in it - something I think we all are longing for. Landscapes that has grown naturally over a long time, and not been prepared and exploited in any human interest, but which live, grow older and are brought further into a variety of life forms, give us the deep confirmation of belonging.
The pictures below are taken during the last 12 months.
